Short Range Halibut: 8 hours, traveling up to 20 miles to reach fishing grounds.
Long Range Halibut: 10 hours, traveling 40-60 miles to reach fishing grounds.
STATE FISHING REGULATIONS
The state allows anglers on chartered fishing trips to retain 4 halibut annually. Your daily limit is 2 halibut with one being over 28 inches, the other being under. Additionally, chartered boats are not allowed to fish Halibut on Wednesdays.
Ling Cod opener is July 1. Limit: up to 2 per person depending on the area fished.
Rockfish limit is 5 per person.
FISHING LICENSES
In order to fish in our great state you are required to obtain an Alaska Fishing License. They can be purchased ahead of time on the State of Alaska website.
